So, I’ve been compiling a list of Pink Egg Layers Breed of Chickens and this is what I found:

  • The Easter Egger

EE, as they’re generally referred to lays pretty eggs that can vary from Pink, to yellow, blue, and even yellow.

The Easter Egger is not YET an official breed, as these chickens are a mix of either an Araucana or an Ameraucana with any other chicken breed.

Both Ameraucanas and Araucanas are purebred and lay blue colored eggs.

Similarlay, both breeds are somewhat rare and can be hard to find here in the U.S.

But you don’t need an Araucana or Ameraucana in your flock to enjoy the sight of beautiful looking eggs, simply look for an Easter Egger instead.

While the American Poultry Association doesn’t yet recognize them as a distinct breed; that doesn’t make them any less inviting!

Still confused? Don’t be. EE are fun and diverse animals. Because of their small, almost non-existent wattles and combs, most are cold-hardy, some have unique green feet and legs, and they have beautiful feathers in a variety of patterns and colors depending on their parents’ breeds.

“EE’s”, may possess beards and muffs in place of ear tufts, which give them a unique look. Their behavior is usually docile and active, and they should fit in well with other breeds in your flock.

If you’re looking to add a colorful surprise to your carton of eggs, consider Easter Eggers!

  • Barred Rock

Having similar features to Dominiques, the Barred Rock chickens are utilized as both meat birds and one that lays eggs.

But, they are not strong layers since they lay an average of about 280 eggs every year. But the good news is that they can produce pink eggs.

  • Light Sussex

This is yet another colourful breed of chicken. They pretty much look like what you think of when someone says the word “chicken”.

However, they are great pets to have around as they are a more docile breed and are also super alert to their surroundings.

But, they only lay an average of 250 eggs each year.

  • Asil

I wouldn’t recommend this bird to any backyard chicken keeper. Bearing their origins from Pakistan and India, these birds are known for their aggressive behavior and do not lay many eggs.

Averagely, they can lay around 40 eggs each year but they do produce pink eggs!

So, basically, you can own them as a yard ornament and less for a pet or an ornament.
